Sam Joseph is an independent real estate agent with RE/MAX Village Square, located in South Orange. In 2009, RE/MAX inducted him into the Platinum Club for selling more than $20 million in real estate. He also received the NJAR Circle of Excellence Award - Gold Level which recognizes the NJAR members who have demonstrated excellence in the field of salesmanship. Sam is a Certified Luxury Home Specialist, which means that his real estate transactions represent the top 10% of the marketplace. His real estate expertise is in Glen Ridge, Montclair, Maplewood, South Orange and West Orange, which includes Llewellyn Park.
Sam Joseph has more than twenty-five years of experience in decorating and design, which makes him uniquely talented as a realtor. Sellers benefit from his design expertise, which helps them style and stage their homes for maximum value. Buyers who choose Sam find they are working with more than a realtor; they have a partner who knows how to select the right home for them.
In 2007, the HGTV show, Bought and Sold featured Sam as a luxury home specialist and focused on several of his upscale listings and clientele.
As Vice President, Creative Director of Macy's Herald Square New York City, Sam was responsible for merchandising every store window, designing the world's largest indoor flower show and creating 12 years of award-winning Christmas windows that attracted millions of holiday shoppers. Known for its creative merchandising, Macy's was first to introduce such products as the tea bag, the Idaho baked potato and colored bath towels. Macy's was also the first retailer to hold a New York City liquor license.
Sam gained valuable design experience in London when he served as the Window Director for Harvey Nichols' flagship store, in Knightsbridge, London. Knightsbridge is London's most fashionable and exclusive shopping district. The retail store was founded in 1813 and today Harvey Nichols is the UK's premier fashion retailer, known around the world.
His professional experience includes special events planning. While living in London, Sam planned the Queen Mother's Birthday at the Royal Opera House. In New York, he orchestrated several major product launches in the city's financial district for Remy Martin Cognac. Young vintner Remy Martin founded the cognac company in 1724 and launched its first champagne cognac in 1848. Today Remy Martin has a reputation as maker of Fine Champagne Cognac.
Since 1992, Sam has lived in Essex County. Over the past 16 years, he has restored and redecorated two homes that he sold at significant profits. He is currently a South Orange resident who lives in Linden Lawn, a large French Chateau-style home built in 1903 for Edward and Josephine Gooch.
Previously, Sam owned a remarkable historic brick and limestone mansion in Glen Ridge, built in 1907 by Henry Blank. In April 1912, Blank (a jeweler) returned from a buying trip in Switzerland on the RMS Titanic's maiden voyage. He survived the ship's sinking, returned to his Glen Ridge mansion and continued to expand his jewelry and watch business. The estate includes a large music room, formal English dining room, sun porch on the first floor and six full bedroom suites on the second floor
Sam's first residence in South Orange was a beautiful six-bedroom home on a tree-lined street in historic Montrose Park, the estate section of South Orange. His circa 1900 home was built by the successful publisher, John W. Scribner.
